Join Timeless Vacation Travels for the 3rd Annual Teen Summit: Youth Explosion, a powerful community event designed to empower, educate, and elevate our youth.

This free event brings teens together for a day filled with inspiration, leadership development, and fun. Attendees will hear from engaging guest speakers, participate in interactive workshops, enjoy exciting activities, and have opportunities to win giveaways.

Hosted by Timeless Vacation Travels Youth Organization, this summit is dedicated to motivating the next generation, building confidence, and encouraging young people to discover their purpose and potential. This is a community event, and all are welcome.

The workshop participants are ages 12-18 in 6th-12th grade only, please. Come connect, learn, and grow in a positive environment created just for youth.

Summer Basketball Camp | Hosted by Bruh Mentor Spartanburg Sports & Mentoring Program

Get ready to level up your game this summer with the Bruh Mentor Summer Basketball Camp! Youth ages 13–19 will have the opportunity to sharpen their basketball skills, build confidence, and connect with mentors in a high-energy and supportive environment.

Camp participants will learn basketball fundamentals and mechanics while also developing teamwork, communication skills, leadership, and self-esteem through structured mentoring and group activities. The program will also feature guest speakers, college eligibility training, and opportunities for personal growth on and off the court.

Train hard, compete, and get better this summer at the E.A.T. Football Camp sponsored by Bruh Mentor. This action-packed camp is designed for boys and girls ages 9–19 who want to improve athletic performance, football fundamentals, and leadership skills in a fun and motivating environment.

Participants will work on speed and agility, position-specific drills, strength and conditioning, competitive gameplay, and overall skill development while also building confidence, discipline, and mentorship connections.

Speed, Agility & Power Summer Camp | Bruh Mentor Spartanburg Sports & Mentoring Program

Build speed, strength, confidence, and leadership this summer with the Bruh Mentor Speed, Agility & Power Summer Camp! This exciting camp experience is designed to help youth athletes improve performance while also learning important life and leadership skills through mentorship and positive youth development programming.

Camp participants will focus on agility training, mechanics of speed, injury prevention, group mentorship, and college eligibility education while hearing from guest speakers and coaches who are committed to helping youth succeed both on and off the field.

Camp Details:

Summer Reading – Spartanburg County Public Libraries

Spartanburg County Public Libraries invites teens to participate in their Summer Reading program, running June 1 through July 31, 2026, at all library locations. Designed for youth ages 12–18 (or rising 7th–12th graders), this free program encourages teens to stay engaged and inspired all summer long.

Participants can choose to read 13 books or log 13 hours of reading to earn a fun prize—a bento box! In addition to reading goals, each library location will host a variety of exciting, teen-focused activities throughout the summer. Events include open mic nights, gaming tournaments, hands-on maker activities like bedazzling book covers, themed bingo (including blacklight bingo), and even unique opportunities to meet and interact with animals such as a capybara.

No registration is required—just stop by your local library and join in the fun. It’s a great way for teens to explore their interests, connect with peers, and make the most of their summer.

This is not about restrictive diets. It’s about equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices that support long-term health.

Eligibility: Participants must have Medicaid

National Gun Violence Awareness Weekend | Spartanburg County

Join the Stop The Violence Coalition and STV Youth Alliance for Spartanburg County’s inaugural Wear Orange Weekend in observance of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, June 5–7, 2026.

This countywide weekend of awareness, remembrance, healing, and community action will honor survivors, remember loved ones lost to gun violence, uplift youth voices, and bring the community together in support of safer neighborhoods for all.

Spartanburg County and the City of Spartanburg have officially recognized the first Friday in June as National Gun Violence Awareness Day through local proclamations, marking a significant community commitment to peace, prevention, and unity.

Weekend events include:
• Proclamation presentation and community recognition
• Teen Night Out youth celebration
• Community outreach and Peace Walk
• Faith-based recognition services
• Community Night of Prayer & Remembrance

Wear Orange is encouraged throughout the weekend in solidarity with survivors, families, and advocates working to end gun violence.

Kick off the summer with an unforgettable night of music, basketball, games, food, fun, and community at Teen Night Out during Wear Orange Weekend 2026!

Hosted by the Stop the Violence Coalition – Spartanburg and community partners, this free event brings teens from across Spartanburg together for a safe, high-energy evening focused on connection, positivity, leadership, and violence prevention.

More than just a summer event, Teen Night Out is part of a larger community movement to create safer spaces, stronger relationships, and brighter futures for local youth.

Event activities include:
• Basketball and open gym activities
• Live music and DJ
• Food and games
• Youth engagement opportunities
• Community resources and support services
• Safe spaces for teens to connect and have fun

Security will be enforced throughout the event to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.

Youth Philanthropy Board Application – NOW OPEN

Do you know a Spartanburg high school junior or senior who is passionate about community service, nonprofit work, leadership, or giving back? Encourage them to apply for the Youth Philanthropy Board.

The Youth Philanthropy Board is a joint initiative of SAM and United Way of the Piedmont that gives local youth the opportunity to learn about philanthropy, community impact, and nonprofit leadership through hands-on experience in the grantmaking and funding process.

Participants will engage in monthly meetings throughout the school year and help review applications, discuss community needs, and make funding recommendations that support local organizations and initiatives.

Applications for the upcoming school year are now OPEN. Please share with students who may be a strong fit for this opportunity.
