Summer Reading – Spartanburg County Public Libraries

Spartanburg County Public Libraries invites teens to participate in their Summer Reading program, running June 1 through July 31, 2026, at all library locations. Designed for youth ages 12–18 (or rising 7th–12th graders), this free program encourages teens to stay engaged and inspired all summer long.

Participants can choose to read 13 books or log 13 hours of reading to earn a fun prize—a bento box! In addition to reading goals, each library location will host a variety of exciting, teen-focused activities throughout the summer. Events include open mic nights, gaming tournaments, hands-on maker activities like bedazzling book covers, themed bingo (including blacklight bingo), and even unique opportunities to meet and interact with animals such as a capybara.

No registration is required—just stop by your local library and join in the fun. It’s a great way for teens to explore their interests, connect with peers, and make the most of their summer.
